Since 1985, Promovoile has been busy proposing training courses in Brittany (in the north west of France) or on the lake in Vaires sur Marne (near Paris) to develop the taste of sailing. By developing its fleet, Promovoile 93 has been able to improve its activities and make progress the practice of yachting. That’s how two regattas were created: the Schools Trophy for young people from Seine-Saint-Denis ( near Paris ) and the Camille Cup for more advanced sailors. The association also supports the projects of high level competitors : Michel Mirabel (Pogo 6.50), Françoise Dettling and Dominique Pfeiffer (Hobie cat 16 champions). In 2001, a transat from La Rochelle via the Canaries to Saint Lucia took place on a sailing boat with two crews of six people. There was a daily contact with the crew which could be followed on the net. Through its yachting clubs, the association develops nautical activities based on coastal cruising and ocean navigation on the Channel, Mediterranean sea and Atlantic ocean. It also uses sailing dinghies (Sprintos and catamarans) on the lake in Vaires sur Marne. Training activities are offered to get licences, to learn about security, seamanship and also sand yachting.
